Summer Brook

Summer Brook is a community nestled in a small valley on Darling Street in Southington, Connecticut, a few minutes from Exit 32 (Queen Street) off Interstate I-84.  Whispering willows and pines surround the cozy buildings and playgrounds for children.

This newly renovated property, formerly known as Flanders East, is now ready for occupancy.  The 180 units are comfortably arranged in a total of 18 buildings, and have one, two, or three bedrooms.

Apartments include a kitchen, living room/dining area and 1 to 1 1/2 bathrooms.  In the two and three bedroom townhouse-style units, the bedrooms and full bath are located upstairs.  Each unit is equipped with a refrigerator, dishwasher, oven range, and air conditioner.  Two and three bedroom units have washer/dryer hook-ups, and coin-operated laundry facilities are also located on the property.  Ample off-street parking is provided.

One, two, and three bedroom accessible units are also available at Summer Brook, as well as a community room for special functions.

An apartment home at Summer Brook may be leased with or without rental assistance.  Due to the CHFA program that has financially assisted in the renovations, several guidelines govern the income qualification of tenants*.  The costs for gas heat, gas cooking, and hot water are included in the monthly rent, and Summer Brook is qualified and subsidized by the Connecticut Energy Saver Program**.
